2021 December 13

Comet Leonard was not visible this morning due to cloud cover. This was most likely the last chance to see it before it is gone forever.

Day. 64° Mostly cloudy. Highs in the mid 60s. South winds 5 to 10 mph.
Night.    46° Cloudy. Patchy fog in the evening then areas of fog after midnight. Not as cool. Near steady temperature around 60. Southeast winds around 5 mph.

Orange slices, bacon, scrambled eggs, and smashed potatoes. I had some small, new potatoes. I boiled them with the skins on. Then pressed them to about 3/4″ and fried them in bacon grease. It made for something a little different for breakfast.

Ella trimming our tree. All three foot of it. And, yes, the tree is taller than Ella (when it is on a two foot chest of drawers.) She also put out the nativity set. I put garland and lights on the patio fence.

Ella needed to go shopping for boxes, in which to mail presents.

We picked up our monthly food allotment from Hill Country Ministries. This is the second month that we’ve taken advantage of this services. Some frozen pork, chicken, and hamburger were in our bag. Another contained, apples, oranges, carrots, and potatoes. There were a lot of lettuce and salad fixings. Also lots of bakery goods but no sliced bread. Various canned goods and a dozen eggs completed the order. As usual, we received more than we need or will use. So a good sized box of goodies was taken to the apartments food pantry.

Crushing aluminum cans to save space in the back of the truck. I’m anticipating a lot of cans on our next collection day, January 02, 2022. The day after New Year’s celebrations just might net us a few more cans. I’m not just providing a recycling service and earning money to support Grandies ministries, I’m also strengthening my arm wrestling arms.
