Day. 76° Mostly cloudy. Highs around 80. Southwest winds 10 to 15 mph becoming west this afternoon.
Night. 31° Clear breezy and much colder with lows in the upper 20s. North winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 35 mph. Wind chill readings as low as 14 after midnight.

Before breakfast I baked 39 cookies. The remaining dough was given to and eaten by Ella. I hadn’t expected that she would eat it all before I’d begun breakfast.

I also made a red raspberry pie made and in the oven before beginning breakfast.
Actually I had lunch slow cooking in the instapot before preparing breakfast. Lunch will be lentils with diced kielbasa, shredded carrot, and garlic and olive paste in a chicken soup base. There is also a tiny granular pasta that was given to us. Everything is in Spanish, so I’m unsure what to call it. I’ve never prepared lentils in this manner before. Adventures in cooking.
The long awaited breakfast was just toast and egg.

We had time to play a couple rounds of Fast Track after breakfast. Then I needed to call a rest break.
After supper we played a couple more. Ella finally broke her dry streak.

The lentil stew was very good, if I do say so myself.

This is the cast iron skillet that Amber gave us at Christmas. Lone Star pan y’all.
On Christmas day we had left a couple of baking pans, with cobbler and bread pudding, at Jenny and Arik’s. Today we stopped long enough to say, “Hi” and “Bye” and retrieve the pans.
COVID is resurgent with a vengeance. Jenny worked 20 hours straight in the ER. They were under staffed, due to their own illnesses. Thanks to the newer variants of the disease, hospital beds are at capacity once again. Please, wear masks and stay home if you are ill. Better yet, stay home unless you HAVE to be somewhere important.
