We started toward Wal-Mart so Ella could get her hair done. We almost made it to the intersection of Crystal Falls and North Bell. At that point, the truck refused to move forward. I got out of the truck and began waving people around. 3 work trucks stopped to help. One offered to pull me across Bell to the Valero station. He did. Then he asked if there was somewhere else that he could tow me. I said it looks like QualTech is closest and I’ve done business with them in the past. While being towed, I called QualTech and let them know I was being on the way. It was around 11:30 when we arrived. Thank God and Nick.

By one o’clock they came back with the sad news, Rudolf the red nosed pickup has a major malfunction. The transmission needs to be replaced. The first estimate was $6,351 64. He did some trimming on parts and labor and got it down to $5,989.11. The truck is over 20 years old and I’m not keen on putting that much money into it. I’m debating as to whether we need a vehicle. Can we reasonably do without?

99% of our shopping can be done online with home delivery. Picking up prescriptions? For our regular repeatable meds, we may be able to have mail order. I’m not sure with the new insurance, if mail order/delivery is possible.

There are on call shuttles that we have not used. I don’t know how practical they are for our purposes.

We have obligations with church and related activities. Other activities like Over The Hill Gang, 50+, and Grandies that require us to be there

Many things about the future I don’t seem to understand. But I know who holds the future and I know who holds my hand.
