Night     38⁰     Cloudy. Lows in the upper 30s.
Northeast winds 5 to 10 mph becoming north 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 25 mph after midnight.

Niece Kara called this morning. She is a nurse and works in a nursing home that has many Covid cases. She went to her heart doctor and received a temporary notice that, because of her prexitsing heart problems, she is not to work while the Covid threat is so high. She also is set to have her knees replaced. If she we to contact Covid, she would have to wait until she is four months clean of Covid before they would do the surgery.

An average of 1,370 cases per day were reported in Williamson County, about the same as the average two weeks ago. Since the beginning of the pandemic, at least 1 in 5 residents have been infected, a total of 119,058 reported cases. Right now, Williamson County is at an extremely high risk for unvaccinated people.
So far, January has been the month with the highest average cases in Williamson County.

On what I hope it’s a totally unrelated topic, Ella and I plus about a dozen others gathered for games today. I’m sad to say that many of them didn’t wear masks.
We drove to the Public Housing Authority for Burnet County to pickup application forms. I really don’t want to move further from family and friends, however I’d prefer Burnet over Taylor or Granger. And we do know a few folks who live in the area.
