We had never been to the Cupboard side of this food pantry. We went hoping for milk and bread. We came away with bread, Brussels sprouts, and white chocolate macadamia nut cookies.

It was a quiet morning, perfect for preparing for Sunday school. We have a workbook but I also research and bring more information and insight to the subject. Currently we are digging into a deeper understand of and appreciation for the Lord’s Prayer.

I’ve become accustomed to using the dishwasher. And I don’t like it. For years I fought against using dishwashers for two reasons. One: people wash dishes before putting them into the dishwasher. It makes no sense to me. I don’t do it. Dirty dishes go in and clean come out. If they don’t come out clean, then I wash them. Two and most importantly: I enjoy doing dishes. No really I do. I like having my hands in the warm soapy water. I enjoy the sense of accomplishment of turning dirty dishes into clean dishes. And three (I know, I said two reasons but this just occurred to me): it brings memories of my mother and I doing dishes together. Usually I did the rinse and dry. However, on occasions, I was allowed to do the washing. So today, I did dishes by hand and I enjoyed it

I baked a few dozen cookies this afternoon. Ella seems to like them a lot. So do i. I don’t know how many will survive ’till morning.
It looks like large swatches of the country are in for some nasty weather – including us. I pray that this will not be a repeat of last February. I took some time and scrolled back through the blog to February 12th to the 22nd of 2021. It was crazy moving in during an ice and snow storm with temperatures in the negative numbers. Let me say that again so that you aren’t confused. I don’t mean that the temperatures went below freezing. I mean they actually dropped to a negative seven degrees Fahrenheit. (Minus twenty-one point six seven degrees Celsius.)
