Today’s Prayer

Today is laundry day. Since we moved into this apartment, nearly every Monday is laundry day. While we lived in our RVs, laundry day was less scheduled and less often. When the dirty clothes hamper was full or when some particular item(s) was needed we would take them to the laundromat. Now that we have our own washer and dryer, it has become nearly a weekly ritual

We played a couple games of Rummicube after lunch. We won.

So, I spent an inordinate amount of time at Walgreens this afternoon and accomplished nothing. Let me backup and fill-in the back story. As of the first of the year, we have new health insurance. Part of the package requires us to use Walgreens for our medications.
I contacted my heart doctor for a new script and they emailed it to me. I took this to Walgreens.
After about forty five minutes of trying to explain to the pharmacy worker that this was the first time I was using Walgreens. She kept trying to find me in their data base. And I kept trying to, once again, expand that this was my first time. It is quite possible that English is her native language. However, between her accent and my poor hearing, no real communication was taking place.
Finally, she handed me off to someone else.
Once again explaining that I was not there to pick-up a medication. That I was new and not already in their system. Once that was understood, we finally got down to the business of giving them the prescription, which was emailed to me. All this time spent to be told that they couldn’t accept that. It had to be on a physical piece of paper. Putting aside the fact that, in the day and age, they can’t take an electronic PDF form. I bet you dollars to donuts that they are going to take the paper copy and scan it into their system.
I was told that I could go to the photo department and print it. I went to the photo counter and it was dark and no one in attendance. Aha! There is a “Ring for service” button. A push of the button and magically several minutes later a young woman appeared. I explained that I needed to print a document from my phone. “Uh, I don’t know how to do that. I’ll get someone to help you.” At least she knew that she didn’t know and didn’t waste either of us more time.
Sometime later a young man came and asked how he could help. (I guess I should stop using the discriptor ,”young”. Most of the population is younger than I.) At any rate, he took my phone and plugged it into their photo copying machine. After pushing many buttons on the machine and my phone, he asked if I had the Walgreens app. I did not. He was convinced that I would be able to print from the app. I began the download. Once I realized that it was going to take longer to download than I had  patience to give it, I thanked him for his time and came home.
I’ve sent an email to the doctor requesting a paper document be mailed to me. I’m positive that the next fistful of paper prescriptions, for all the rest of my medications,  will go much smoother. Pray for me.
