Day 100° Mostly sunny. Hot with highs around 102. Southwest winds 5 to 10 mph becoming south with gusts up to 20 mph this afternoon.

Very hot high temperatures between 99° and 104° are expected this afternoon across South-Central Texas. Combined with humidity, this could lead to heat indices ranging from 102°-106°

Leander UMC’s monthly 50+ Game Day. For the third month in a row we were the only ones there who weren’t workers. We stayed and played Chicken Foot dominos for about an hour and a half. We haven’t played that for years! Wow, it’s been that long.

We stopped at Community Cupboard mere minutes before closing time. Ella picked up cookies and bagels. I didn’t realize how dirty my windshield was until I saw this photo. Our maybe that’s the reflection of the dashboard.

I’m experimenting with food this evening. I brought home the leftover beans from yesterday’s luncheon at Over The Hill Gang. I poured all that good bean juice off and kept the beans. I added a can of diet Dr Pepper and some molasses to the beans. I then boiled it down reducing the liquid to nearly dry. I did a taste test and am not satisfied. It is in the refrigerator for now. I will continue to tweak tomorrow.
