I had the skillet too hot when I started the eggs this morning. That’s why there are those lacy looking crispy bits today. I see them as a cooking failure. Ella sees them as an extra special treat. She really likes them.

Deuteronomy 9:18a
[Moses said:] “Then once again I lay face downward in the LORD’s presence for forty days and nights and did not eat or drink anything.”
Reflect
What reasons are given for the LORD’s driving out the occupants of Canaan? What is the promise that the LORD intends to keep?

We went to Grandies this morning. For a while, we thought it was going to be just Ella and me. But about the time we’d decided to give it up and get along with the rest of what we needed to do today, Anne arrived. So we had a meeting after all. We finished the meeting and played some canasta. It was about 12:45 when we left there.

The next place we needed to go was Wally World for some groceries. We needed to purchase items for tomorrow’s lunch at Over The Hill Gang. We also purchased a few items for ourselves. I shopped for OTHG and Ella shopped for us. Two separate shopping carts so as to not get them mixed. Everything paid for from different accounts.

Next we returned to Liberty Hill and the OTHG building. We got the groceries carried in with Merle’s help. Once the groceries were squared away, we had a board meeting. Last week we held elections and we have two newbies to the board. For that reason I thought it important to read the job directions from the club bylaws. We also discussed some changes to the bylaws to update forms of communication with members. The bylaws require notification in two issues of the local paper. Things have changed since the last update of the bylaws. The local paper is now published only once a month, which makes it no longer suitable for communicating with our members. We are going to add usage of emails, text messages, social media, and our own website for more immediate notification. Yes, we now have a website for the OTHG. It is https://OverTheHillGangLHTX.com.
We also made jello for tomorrow. We also made the tea for tomorrow so that it could cool down in the refrigerator instead of using ice to cool the hot tea.
Once Ella and I returned home, she made deviled eggs from the eggs we pressure cooker yesterday. She also made a large pan of bread pudding. Those, along with the potato salad and baked beans I’d previously prepared, will go for the OTHG lunch tomorrow.
