Read Deuteronomy 27:1-26
Key Verse: Deuteronomy 27:9b, 10
[Moses said:] “Today you have become the people of the LORD your God; so obey him and keep all his laws that I am giving you today.”
Reflect
What is Moses instructed to do? What is to be the purpose of the stones?  What sacred objects are used in connection with worship in your community of faith?

Ella and I were alone at Grandies today. So, after 20 minutes we left.

Before leaving Liberty Hill, we stopped at Golden Chick to place our order for 100 pieces of chicken and some rolls. These are for tomorrow’s Over The Hill Gang lunch.

There were a few donated items at the church. We took them to Operation Liberty Hill. Sunday we will receive more donations so it was good to get them delivered today. That way the back of our HHR can be empty before the new load on Sunday.

From OLH we drove to The Caring Place in Georgetown. The reason for the trip was to check on the availability of hearing aids. One of our friends at the apartments told us that she received her hearing aids for free from The Caring Place. However, I was told to begin by checking with my insurance first.

Since we were only about a mile from the Georgetown senior center, we went to see if they are open. Yes. Yes they are. They reopened in February 2022. We needed to update our paperwork. So we did. We arrived in time for lunch of a chicken patty sandwich, lettuce, tomato, tater tots, and nectarines.

Finally it was time to head home. Once home, I started a pot of pinto beans soaking. I also made some Dirty Rice. Both of these are for tomorrow at OTHG. Ella was going to make more bread pudding. That’s a good use of all the dinner rolls we’ve received lately. However, after cutting all the bread into cubes, she decided not to make it at this time. The bread will keep quite well in the freezer. In fact, if it dries a bit in the freezer, the better pudding it will make.

I ordered a gallon of milk, 3lbs of bacon, celery, garlic clove, and a bell pepper. If that small grocery sack looks too small to contain all of that … It is because the only thing I received was the garlic and the pepper. And it was an hour late arriving. I immediately began calling customer service. For the first five calls either they hung up or the system hung up after about 2 minutes. The last call after 4 minutes I actually got to talk to somebody, who told me, “I’ll transfer you to that department.” So I sat and listened to it ring there for a while before someone picked it up. It sounded like quite a young man and as I started explaining what was going on he said, “Just a minute I got to find a pen.” So one eternity later he came back on the line, hopefully with a pen in hand. I told him what I was short and that I was displeased with it not being a complete order and being an hour late. And he said, “We can get that ready for you to pick up.” I said no I want it delivered. He said, “I will have to give this to my manager and he will call you back.” That was over 2 hours ago. No call so far. In all fairness up until this time I’ve had nothing but good things to say about Walmart’s home delivery. It’s about 8:30 and I’m going to bed. I’ll be up at some point during the night and I’ll check outside the apartments door.
