Went to Walmart to pickup the items I’d paid for but not received in our delivery from Wednesday. I also bought the milk that I had forgotten to order. Saw some slipon shoes that might work better than the shoes I was wearing. I’ve twisted my ankle a couple of times lately. I’ve blamed the shoes for rolling to the side. Maybe the shoe. Maybe the foot. Shoe’s easier to replace. Cheaper too. We’ll see.

I stopped at Community Cupboard to donate some plastic bags. They need them and we don’t. While there I did pickup some items for home also. Some apple empanadas, blueberry biscuits, and four nectarines.

We had lunch at Leander UMC’s 50+ luncheon of barbequed pulled-pork sandwiches, coleslaw, potato salad, and cake. There it was announced that the monthly 50+ game night is cancelled until further notice. People just quit coming to play games. Three months in a row Ella and I were the only ones who came.

This afternoon the apartment manager called a meeting to address common issues, rumors, and questions. Topics include TAX CREDIT, RENT INCREASES, PARKING, STAFF TURNOVER, CLEANLINESS, and MAINTENANCE. Thankfully she had prepared a three page handout answering these concerns. I say thankfully because, once the meeting started, I could hear very little of what she said because of all the conversations, cellphone, and barking dogs. I eventually gave up and came home.

Deuteronomy 29:1-29
Today’s Key Verse: Deuteronomy 29:12
[Moses said to the people:] “You are here today to enter into this covenant that the LORD your God is making with you and to accept its obligations.”
Reflect
As noted in yesterday’s reading, the consequences for disobedience are outlined in Deuteronomy 28:15-68; acts of disobedience will incur the LORD’s punishment. Verses 22-28 seem to point to a time, years later, when the Assyrian and Babylonian armies will invade the land. Why would Moses have given such a warning to the people? In what ways do you show your faithfulness to God?
