We did some shopping for the OVER THE HILL GANG this morning. We went to Sam’s Club first. I had three items to buy. I asked someone who was working there for directions. He was very knowledgeable and told me exactly what aisle and what location within the aisle.
Ella wanted to go look at coffee makers for church.
It took me very little time to gather my items. But Ella was nowhere near the coffee machine section. I tried calling her phone and it went straight to voicemail. I even tried texting. I checked out and sent her another voice mail that I was going to the car. It’s my fault for not designations a meeting place and time.
While we were on that side of town, we stopped to where we are going to be dog sitting to pick up a key. The dogs were so excited to see us. I wish our kids and grandkids could be that excited to see us.
With frozen biscuits in the car and one hundred and three degrees outside, we didn’t waste any time getting to OTHG and putting them into the freezer. The next stop was Walmart to finish our shopping for OTHG. I need stew meat, V8 juice, and brussel sprouts for Thursdays stew. Ella and I are providing the carrots and potatoes for the stew.
Once we were home, I mixed up a marinade for the beef. I’ll let it “marry” until Wednesday evening and then brown the beef and start the stew and let it slow cook until Thursday morning

Joshua 21:43—22:9
Today’s Key Verse: Joshua 22:5
[Joshua said:] “Make sure you obey the law that Moses commanded you: love the LORD your God, do his will, obey his commandments, be faithful to him, and serve him with all your heart and soul.”
Reflect
Reread 21:43-45. What promises had God kept? What does Joshua say to the people of Reuben, Gad, and East Manasseh (22:1-8)? In what ways have you experienced the promises of God?

I spent some time crushing cans. And, No, I didn’t drink these. These are part of the five or six bags of aluminum cans we collected at church on Sunday. If you’ve been following along on the journal, you know that we sell them for the aluminum. By crushing them, I can get more into our car.

See! They are not all beer cans.

We also collect the pull tabs. Those are donated to the Ronald McDonald House Charity*.

It is Monday and that means it’s laundry day for us. This is Ella’s responsibility, by her choice. I don’t sort the loads the same way she does. So, I’m asked to leave it alone.

We took Fast Track with us to the community room and two others played a couple of games with us. Cheryl had played once before Elien(?) had not played before and won the first game.
