The FROG adult Sunday school class has two more weeks of studying Wesley’s 21 questions. The questions were designed as a self checkup of our spiritual journey. They have sparked some interesting conversations in class.
The Elevator at church became stuck between floors this morning. Pam Turner was stuck in there for, what I’m sure seemed to her, years. There are several of us in the adult Sunday school classes that have mobility issues that make navigating the stairs difficult though not totally impossible. We had plenty of assistance in getting down the stairs thanks to some younger folks.
Here is pastor Michele celebrating the announcement that a squad of firemen had released Pam from the elevator. I’m not sure how they got her out because the “magic” key that firemen carry failed to open the doors. After the worship service a repairman from Schindler Elevator came and returned it to working order. That is good news for those of us who will be using it on this coming Wednesday morning.
Today was Cross Tracks Church’s monthly intake of food and personal items for Operation Liberty Hill. We also collected quite a few bags of aluminum cans. Because OLH will not be open until Tuesday, we will keep them stored in the car for now. After we unload at OLH we can go on up the interstate to Jarrell and sell the aluminum.
In what has become something of a Sunday habit, we drove through Burger King and purchased our lunch. We spent a little more today than usual because instead of the Whopper Jr. meal, we got the Whopper meal which came with large fries and a large drink. Having tried them both, I think the junior meal is just the right size for us
