No rain today
We slept in today. I mean a serious sleep in. I woke just before 8 and let Ella sleep until 9:30. Because we slept so late, we didn’t have breakfast. No breakfast because lunch was going to be served at 11:30.
The first place we HAD to go was the Murphy USA gas station at Walmart. We were so low on gas that the car’s instrument panel had stopped displaying how many miles we could drive on the gas in the tank. It only read “low fuel”. I filled the 15 gallon tank with 14.567 gallons of gasoline. Oh, and the reason we went to the Murphy station is because I saved ten cents a gallon with my Walmart+ app.
The next part of our morning drive was to Walgreens to pick up Ella’s medication. Because of the arrangement with our health insurance company and Walgreens, we have zero co-pay with nearly all of our prescriptions.

We had a free lunch at Leander United Methodist Church’s 50+ group. The educational part of the program was a presentation by a Leander policeman about scams that target seniors. We even received the packet of forms that need to be completed when a person has been a victim of a scam.

We then drove to the North Austin Sam’s Club. I had hoped to purchase everything needed to prepare the lunches for the Over The Hill Gang’s lunches for the next two Thursdays. I was quite surprised, therefore, to discover how little I was actually able to stock up on at Sam’s Club. They had very little of what I needed.
Before we pulled out of the Sam’s Club parking lot, I received a call from Austin Urology. Yesterday’s blood draw showed that I do have an elevated PSA level. So on September 20th I will go in for an outpatient biopsy. The actual procedure only lasts about five minutes but I blocked off a two hour time on the calendar because the doctor’s schedule is so fluid. I’ll admit that I’m a little anxious about this because it was prostate cancer that my brother died from. He was seventeen years older than I. And I’m now twelve years older than he was when he died.

Having come up short on supplies at Sam’s, we went back to the Walmart where our day had begun. We managed to get everything that we need for the lunches, just not everything that I wanted.
I was surprised that at neither place was I able to purchase the restaurant size cans of fruit cocktail or mandarin oranges. Also, I really wanted some creamy cucumber salad dressing for the cucumber and tomatoe salad we will be serving. I guess I’ll make it myself.

Haveing finished with the shopping, we went to the OTHG building and unloaded the supplies. Once everything was put away and we had tidied up a bit, we headed for home.

It was 4:30 when we returned home and I realized that I had never taken my breakfast meds – because I never had breakfast. Now it was nearly time to take my supper pills. Though breakfast and supper pills contain some different pills, they also contain some of the same pills. I didn’t want to double up on the medication so I had the breakfast pills at 4:30 and the supper pills at 8:30. It is after nine as I write this and I haven’t taken my bedtime pills … I’ll probably take them around midnight. Goodnight and God bless.
