I have good news.
Vanessa Bergman, CPhT from Urology Austin Pharmacy, contacted me yesterday that she has secured a grant that will cover the cost of my hormone medication for the prostate cancer. Previously, my share of the co pay (after insurance) was going to be $900.00 a month. The grant will currently cover the cost of medication for the next five months at the current dosage. Beyond that, I don’t know.
I Stopped on the way to work and picked up Ella’s meds. I could have done it after work but I thought that the line would be shorter in the morning. Also I am prone to forgetting things to do afterwards
I had times to play a game of sudoku while waiting for Ella’s medications.
With her drugs taken care of, I proceeded on to work via the back roads, by Lakeline Blvd
I was surprised to find the mall doors locked when I arrived. I was even more surprised when, after coming in the employees entrance, to find the hallway doors locked. I was just turning to walk away when security came to unlock the door. She said, “I really shouldn’t let you in this way, but since you’re here …” I said that I am an employee. She said, “Oh, I thought you were a customer.”
Santa was moderately busy today with many visits in the three hours that I was there.
Ella had most of our lunch/supper ready when I arrived home.
At five o’clock Ella went to the apartments community room to play Mexican train.
While she was gone, I used the time to practice singing the music for the Christmas cantata. I have a CD for the lower voices.
The Community Cantata is December eleventh at our church. It will follow a supper/potluck. Ella and I have been asked to dress as Mr and Mrs Claus for the event.
Some days ago Ella received the following text.
Hi Ella I got your number from Diane. I am the GM/Area Manager for Alamo Coffee. We were looking to see if Santa would be available to come to our 2 locations. Lampasas and Round Rock. We are looking for the 10th(lampasas) and 17th.(round rock, off 1431).
I asked Ella if she had responded. She hasn’t. So I asked her to call this person. Once she was on the phone, I some to her. I now have two more Santa gigs this year.
The story of how this came about is quite interesting. Someone this summer, the woman from Alamo coffee was visiting a friend at the apartments. They had gone out to swim and sit by the pool. Ella and I were out swimming also. And Ella being the friendly person that she is, stuck up a conversation with them. During the chat, it was mentioned that I am Santa. So when she was looking for Santa at her coffee houses, she called Diane, her friend at the apartments, for a number to contact me. Diane had Ella’s number. And there you have it, the story of how Santa, in his swim suit, interviewed for job.
