I’ve started packing away the extra suit and assorted items that need to go back to the photograph company. I’m both sorry and glad that the Santa z season is coming to an end.
Ella says that I’m always depressed after the season is over because I’m missing all the hugs, hand drawn pictures, and happy children and adults. There may be some truth to that.
At the same time I’m glad to get back to our normal routine. Getting back to spending time with my wife and friends. I miss the Monday night board games, Tuesday Mexican train, Wednesday Grandies and canasta, Thursday at Over The Hill Gang, Fridays with the Leander UMC 50+ group, and all of the hundreds of other things that we do together.
In a way, I’m also looking forward to the radiation treatments that begin in January. It is a necessary step and getting rid of the prostate cancer. Unless the Lord decides to just give me a complete healing before that.

By the way, minus four degrees is plenty cold even for Santa. And even a magical sleigh gets buffeted by forty mile an hour winds.
