ELLA was up before I this morning. She had made toast, nuked the bacon, wedged oranges, and reheated the coffee. All that was left for me was to fry the eggs.

AFTER breakfast we took our game and our drinks to the community room in hopes that others might join us. Joe arrived, poured some coffee and joined us at the table. He didn’t play but did visit with us for a while.

AROUND ten o’clock I went out to hopefully get the car door open so I could start and deice our little putt-mobile. No go. I them called the doctor’s office to let them know I couldn’t make it to my appointment.

CORN chowder and matzos for lunch. Ella had been encouraging me to make this for several weeks. This seemed like a good day to do so.

ABOUT three o’clock it was warmed to 35°. I went out and began chipping away at the ice covering our car. Surprisingly, it was relatively easy to scrape the ice around the edges of the door. Once that was done I could open it. I got in and started the engine and turned on the heater and windshield defroster.

FROM six to seven I called bingo in the community room. People seemed to enjoy themselves.

THE movie tonight in the theater room was “The Lost City” with Sandra Bullock. I had seen it before but remembered that it was a fun movie.
