WE were awakened by the sound of a vehicle running outside our window. It was an Emergency Medical Service ambulance. Shortly they brought a gurney with a person strapped on. They didn’t leave immediately so I’m guessing that they were performing some medical procedure before driving away.
ELLA heard through the apartments grapevine that a woman had fallen inside her apartment and couldn’t get up.
ALSO according to the rumor-mill, she had locked the deadbolt. Management has a master key to unlock our doors. However there is no key slot for the deadbolt. The paramedics had to knock a hole in the wall to open the door. This is at least the third time I’ve heard of them doing this to gain entrance. Ella and I have stopped locking the deadbolt.
DAY 83°. Partly cloudy. Highs in the upper 80s. West winds around 5 mph becoming South this afternoon.
BEFORE I left for treatment Ella and I went to the morning coffee gathering. There were sugar cookies there today. Ella ate and I didn’t. She had coffee and I had water. I drink at least a quart of water before going to the doctor’s. By keeping the bladder full it mitigates damage from the radiation.

• THE Ohio train wreck is still in the news. The official report declared that the wreck was 100% preventable. Now comes wants the president of the railroad to appear before them.
• WEATHER is still in the news the past vortex that created historical storms from coast to coast hasn’t loosened its grip. More heavy snow is expected from Maine to California. Hundreds in Michigan are still without power.
• AN American, Elan Ganeles, was killed in Israel while visiting a friend’s wedding. He was shot on a road that passes through the West Bank.
• UKRAINE President Zelensky says the situation in Bakhmut, in eastern Ukraine is “getting more and more difficult.”

Night 59°. Mostly cloudy. Not as cool. More humid with Lowe’s in the mid-60s. Southwinds 10 to 15 mph.
WE played Mexican Train tonight from five o’clock until around eight. We had fun. As usual we kept no score.
