WE stopped at Operation Liberty Hill and gave them the meager food contribution that was collected this past Sunday. I felt somewhat embarrassed that it was all we had to offer. In related news, we are still carrying all of the aluminium cans that were donated last Sunday. There isn’t yet enough to make the trip to the recycles worthwhile. I need to bring them to the apartment and crush them. Crushing them is not required by the recycler. It is just to save space in the apartment while we are storing them.
GRANDIES
TODAY there were three: Ella, Sandra, and I at Grandies. And, yes, we played canasta afterwards.
WE received text messages advising us that there will be no Over The Hill Gang tomorrow. The city will be replacing the air-conditioning. New air conditioning is good news. Cancelling OTHG is not good news.
ON a related note, I received a call from the home health nurse who is scheduled to come to the apartment and examine us tomorrow. She called to see if there was a possibility of coming sooner than the two o’clock as scheduled. On a normal Thursday we would not want an earlier appointment because we would be at OTHG. However, since it is cancelled, we told her that ‘yes’ earlier would be fine. She will call us ahead of time to confirm an arrival time.
WE arrived home shortly after 12:30 and have remained here since.
