2020 August 27 THROWBACK THURSDAY

Thursday

Welcome, family and friends, to Our Daily Journal, a remembrance for us and a point of connection for you.

It reached 97° that felt like 100° today. By 5 o’clock it had begun to cool – 96° that felt like 99°.

The sky was very turbulent looking asst daybreak. I fully expected the thunder storms to overtake us. But they seemed to have past us by.Delicious homemade corn chowder for lunch. Ella had been asking me to make this chowder for about a week now. Today she took matters into greet own hands (somewhat). She peeled a potato and opened a can of corn. I cooked some bacon, shredded the potato, added the liquid from the can of corn, some chicken soup starter, and some milk. I would have preferred to use sour cream. However, the sour cream was well past usability.

THROWBACK THURSDAY

As I’m wondering how Santa is going to navigate the coming covid covered Christmas season, I was reminiscing about past visitors to Santa’s big chair at the mall.

Nov. 9, 19 –Today a group of 10 to 12 high school age girls came to the mall in some unique cosplay outfits. At first only two of them came onto the set. However I finally convinced the others to come in also. Then I said they really needed a photo to commensurate this momentous gathering. They weren’t too sure until I said, “It’ll only be a couple dollars apiece.” Now the trick was to get all of them into the frame of the camera, which doesn’t have a wide angle lens. However, with a little crowding and a lot of giggling they got their photo.” I with I had a copy of the photo.

Speaking of photos, I really like this one of Mrs. Claus planting a really good kiss on Mr. Claus, back in 2013.

I went to O’Reilly Auto Parts and picked up the taillight assembly. I sat in the parkinglot and replaced the cracked taillight. Then back to the inspection station and received a “PASSED”. One step closer to receiving a Texas licence plate and driver’s licence.
Thanks again for stopping by. Share this with your friends. See y’all again tomorrow. Stay safe. Remember, we love you.
