Our alarms went off at 6:00 and by 6:45 we were out the door and the car fully loaded. We arrived at Over The Hill by 7:30. Then we put the meatloaf into the oven right at 7:30. We got the tea, the sweet tea, and the water all filled and ready with ice in them. Ella set the table with butter, salt and pepper, and napkins.  The deviled eggs were completed. The canned peas were put on the heat. And the pinto beans were also on the stove to stay warm. And then at 8:00 we sat to eat breakfast from Burger King.

Beginning mileage 128426.

We left right after lunch at about 12:45. We had planned to go straight up I-35. However, Google navigator said, “I’ve found a better route.” So we went up 1869 to 183 and then took 281 up to Jaksboro.

It was almost 2:00 when we made a pit stop in Hamilton, Texas. I was going to refill the gas tank but I couldn’t see anything on the pumps screen except solid gray. So we moved on.

It was 4:15 when we stopped at Dairy Queen in Jacksboro, Texas.

At 5:40 we filled up with gas at Henrietta, Texas. At 6:15 we entered Oklahoma.

At 7:00 we made another pot stop in Line Grove, Oklahoma.

It was about 7:45 when we tried to get photos of the sunset but neither Ella or I did a very good job of it. Hers is better … If those earbuds weren’t so strategically placed.

At 9:28 we reached the halfway point of the trip 485 miles behind us and 485 miles ahead of us

At 10:45 we pulled off of interstate 35 to rest. At a strip mall in Tonkawa, Oklahoma. The building was either abandoned or under construction. I couldn’t say which. I was unable to rest so we traveled on. We stopped in Tonkawa at a service area and I slept in the car for about an hour
