• This is where we ended our travels yesterday: Valero’s Tonkawa Trading Post

After about a two hour rest, we continued driving at 12:48 a.m. this morning.
• We then drove another 120 miles on the Kansas turnpike. At 2:39 a.m. we stopped at Matfield Green Service, Toll road rest stop, Mile 97 Ks Tpk, 1-35, and left at 4:16 a.m.
From there we drove from 4:16 AM to 4:51 AM 32 miles to Short Stop #13,
2000 Industrial Rd, Emporia, KS Arriving at 4:51 AM and leaving at 5:17 AM.
Then driving 47 miles from 5:17 AM until 6:01 AM when we arrived at Rest Stop, Pomona, KS. We left at 6:16 AM.
We then drove 71 miles from 6:16 AM until 7:23 AM when we stopped at QuikTrip, 5108 NE Vivion Rd, Kansas City, MO filled with gasoline and left at 7:33 AM.
Going forward again we drove 81 miles from 7:33 AM until 8:45 AM when we arrived at Casey’s4107 Miller St, Bethany, MO where we used the bathroom and then found a place to park and to sleep from 8:45 AM until 10:21 AM. I really needed that.
Then drove 54 miles from 10:21 AM to 11:10 AM stopping at Rest Stop 1-35, Osceola, IA for another potty break from 11:10 AM until 11:26 AM.
Then drove 46 miles from 11:26 AM to 12:34 PM and arrived at Lazy Daze, 2nd St, Melrose, IA 52569 12. We unloaded most of our stuff at John and Dawn’s place (they were at work).
We then found our friends Mike and Dora who work at BRIDGEVIEW (RATHBUN LAKE) 20112 Old Hwy 5, Centerville, IA After visiting with them, we returned to John and Dawn’s where we found that the air conditioner wasn’t working in the cabin where we are staying for the next couple of days. I took another nap in the car while Ella read and did things on her phone.
When the kids arrived John swapped out the a/c with one he had in his shed.
They took us out to eat at Jing Jing Chinese Restaurant, 717 1/2 N 18th St, Centerville, IA .
By the time we returned to their place, Ella was really ready for bed. She hadn’t slept since six o’clock Thursday morning.
