I left home right after breakfast. To be fair, we didn’t crawl out of bed until nearly 10. I had been awake for about 3 hours by then but, until Ella was awake, I didn’t see any reason to get up and start breakfast.
While I lay there I had plenty of times to think. One of the thoughts I had was, “I need to get all of the shopping and cooking for Thursdays Over The Hill Gang lunch done today.
Why? Because tomorrow morning I will have a biopsy on my prostate.
What does that have to do with lunch on Thursday? I’m glad you asked. For most of a week after the biopsy I will be restricted to lifting no more than 5 pounds. The taco casserole starts with 10 pounds of ground beef to which I add 10 to 15 pounds of other ingredients. You see the problem? The only day that I can accomplish this is today.
So, I left home right after breakfast.
The first stop was OTHG to get things like tax exemption forms and club membership cards.

My next stop was someplace I had never been before today, Restaurant Depot. It was also the furthest away from my starting point in Liberty Hill. There was also the unknown factor. Since it is a members only business, I didn’t know if I would be able to even shop there. We are not members.

Good news. I was given a guest pass. I spent $147.72 of the club’s money restocking some items that I knew we were low on – but that I truly hadn’t intended to buy today.
The next stop was Sam’s Club where we are members. Here I was able to purchase nearly everything necessary to prepare Thursdays lunch … and spent $99.66 more. Sam’s was also headed back toward home, which was my next stop.
When I arrived home my darling wife had five cans of black beans and five cans of corn waiting on the patio, so that I could just pick them up and go without going into the apartment.
She also had my Life Line device (that I had forgotten to take with me).

I also got some kisses, right over the patio fence. But then I had to go back to Liberty Hill and the OTHG building to put away the purchases and do the cooking.

Other than some final layering and reheating, which someone else will need to do (remember the weight restriction) on Thursday.
Once I was home, I rested before taking the first of the pre surgery medications. Then came the thing I dreaded more than the surgical procedure … an enema.
Having never before had an enema I didn’t know what to expect. However, what I feared was that it would be similar to the laxative given before a colonoscopy. Other than the embarrassing manner of its application, I find I prefer the enema.
Goodnight and God bless
