EMERGENCY ROOM VISIT

THIS is what happens when you are on blood thinners and trim your toenails too close to the toe. It was just a tiny cut with a very sharp toenail trimmer. I couldn’t believe how fast the blood flowed and for how long. Kinda like taking the drain plug outta the oil pan.

ELLA wrapped it in two or three bandaids and then a gauze pad and stretch bandage material.

IT took nine minutes to get to the emergency room. The toe had stopped bleeding by then. The doctor cleaned the wound and poured copious amounts of alcohol over it. She then rebandaged using a gauze pad impregnated with a clotting agent. She also recommended a podiatrist to trim my nails. I don’t know how much the podiatrist charges but hopefully it is less than a trip to the ER.

Coffee At The Hills

WE were home in time to fix and eat breakfast and bake a blueberry cobbler. We still had time for coffee with a decidedly small group at coffee. We had a new resident (2 days) named Barbara there for coffee today.

I MADE a bow to take the box of donations to the thrift store today. We went to the Hill Country Community Ministries Thrift store. However they weren’t open and wouldn’t be open until after we intended to be done place else. Who would have thought that it would take this much time and energy to make a charitable donation! I ended up taking it to Goodwill. I would have rathered donating to a ministry. However it became too difficult to do that.

HILL Country Community Ministries Food Pantry is near enough to Goodwill and on the way to our next destination. Do we stopped long enough to donate empty boxes to them.

OVER THE HILL GANG

WE arrived at OTHG in time to sit in on Another History of Liberty Hill by Gary Spivey. He is very knowledgeable and an interesting speaker.

FOR lunch we had pizza, salad, fruit, and a multitude of desserts. We brought two desserts, the blueberry cobbler from this morning and an applesauce cake with a honey walnut topping that I made yesterday.

THERE was time for a nap before bingo this evening. However, we received a call from the emergency room. They found my insurance cards on the floor of the examination room. I went back to get them.

ELLA called bingo from six to seven this evening at the Hills. While she did that I worked on writing in the paper journal book.
