Morning Coffee at the Hills

THIS morning at Coffee Annie was back. Andria, Ella, Fran, and Joan were there. Sandy is in the hospital and the doctors haven’t diagnosed the problem. Also I noticed that the food pantry has been restocked. At that point Ella and Annie got up and reorganized the cupboard.

OVER THE HILL GANG

There were 36 at Over The Hill Gang for chicken, mashed potatoes with gravy, salad, and many desserts including Ella’s caramel apple cobbler. None of the cobbler made it home. There cake pan and lid were cleaned and dried – thank you very much. We had two Mormon missionaries join us today. They have taken OTHG on as a mission project. They are “Sister” Smith and “Sister” Villa (Vee yah). They will be in Liberty Hill for maybe six months.

Afternoon Coffee at the Hills

This afternoon at Coffee we had ten or eleven people. There were also treats including real home made whipped cream and an African dessert much like a bread pudding.

BINGO

ELLA did her usual six o’clock to seven o’clock Bingo games. She went ready with a bunch of new game sheets with new variations of bingo.

BIBLE STUDY

SCRIPTURE: For everyone who asks receives, and everyone who searches finds, and for everyone who knocks, the door will be opened.
Matthew 7:8 NRSV

COMMENTARY: Verses 7-8 Jesus tells his disciples to ask, to search and to knock. All three of these  continuous and all of them refer to prayer. Continue to ask. Continue to search and continue to knock. To each of these actions, there will be success. God will always hear true prayer. God will give to those disciples who ask. The disciples who search, will find. And God will open the door to those disciples who knock. He will answer those prayers in the way that is best. God’s answer, therefore, may be different from the request.
