Monday, Monday, so good to me
Monday mornin’, it was all I hoped it would be.* www.TomAndEllaJournal.comAudio journal https://www.spreaker.com/user/12220003
hough it began the color of bathwater left behind by a ten year old boy, the sky parted to the sound of angelic voices and behold the sun reigns supreme once again. (Okay, I made up that part about angels singing.)
his morning the forecasters hadn’t a clue for today’s high. However, I kept score for them. It reached eighty three degrees.
Sorry, Ella, I only had enough to make ONE cookie.
Oh, okay, I’ll share.
y day began as usual with a step onto the scale. I had lost w-a-y too much weight. Ella said she was also much lighter than expected.
y first thought was that some gravitational anomaly had happened overnight. However, when I dropped an egg, it appeared to fall at the normal rate of speed. Not having enough eggs to risk repeating the experiment, I decided that gravity had remained constant. I hated drawing that conclusion based upon data from a single observation. But, times being what they are, and Ella’s glare being what it was, I went with the skimpy data collected.
n examination of the scale, it was discovered that a tiny switch had been moved from pounds to kilograms. I’ve never before regretted that Americans have stubbornly refused to move to the metric system … but … I felt so much lighter in kilograms.
Monday, Monday, can’t trust that day
Monday, Monday, sometimes it just turns out that way.*
ther than the earlier confusion about shifting gravity, the rest of the day was very normal.
ordered groceries to be picked up Thursday Afternoon. Ella ordered prescriptions for pickup at the same time.
Many games of Fast Track were 1played throughout the day. Ella won some. I won some.
