2020 September 04 Packing

Friday

Welcome, family and friends to our daily journal. Share it with your friends. It is a way of remembrance for us and a point of connection for you.

Not the prettiest sunrise photo, is it?

  • September 4th! This it’s the time of year when we normally be thinking of packing for our trip from Iowa to Texas. Today, we are packing (lite) to to from Texas to Iowa. We will have time to visit family and friends. HOWEVER, this is a WORKING trip. We need to empty two rented storage units. We will also empty and close our Iowa trailer. The trailer will either move to a new home, to temporary storage, or to salvage.
The evening after I switched the car insurance from Iowa to Texas, I received insurance documents via email. I noticed that it listed the truck as being used from business. I sent an email, to the agent listed on the policy, stating that I only used the truck for personal use.
Today I received another webmail with downloadable documents. As I read through them, I saw that it still said that the truck was used for business. I called the toll free number and, after speaking with the best artificial intelligence phone system I’ve ever encountered, spoke with a live human female who quickly was able to change the truck usage to “commute.” Evidently “personal” isn’t an option.
While I had her on the line, I said, “As I understand it, if the automatic payment is taken directly from the bank account, rather than my bank-card, there is a discount. Correct?” Yes there is and the payment will now come directly from the bank. With those two changes, my payment dropped around $40.
  • God bless and g‘day.
