🔴 OVER THE HILL GANG: This young couple prepared some really nice brisket for us old folks so OTHG today. We also had a plethora of sides and desserts. It was our Independence Day celebration and also weird hat day.
🔴DELIVERY: Ella ordered a dress from temu for the Fourth of July and it came today. Also delivered today were hearing aid wax filters that I ordered from Amazon. It’s nice to be able to hear again.
🔴HCCM: Today we received a wagon load of good from Hill Country Community Ministries. As usual there is more than we need. Our cupboard and pantry is already well stocked with at least a month’s worth of dry goods and canned goods. We are going to Heather and Austin’s for lunch tomorrow so I plan to take several boxes of extras to see if they can use it. If not we will gift it elsewhere.

🔴 APARTMENT: My niece Kara asked if we are enjoying our new apartment. Yes we are … very much so. It very quickly felt like home. In the five years at Hills at Leander it never felt that way. It was always an apartment where we lived. It never felt like us. This place does. Several things account for that feeling. At the Hills you walked from the hallway into one long room that was kitchen, dining, and living. Here at the Village you walk from the outside into the living room. There is a separate room for the kitchen. The dining room is separated from the living room by a wall of cubical shelves. The bathroom is a bathroom not a storage room as it was at the Hills. It feels more like a house and a home.
