I wish the camera could actually capture how the sunlight on the waxy live oak leaves sparkles. It can’t. So here’s a poem.

The camera flattens out the sudden shine,

Where every waxy leaf becomes a spark,

A flash of Texas gold on green design,

That slips away too quickly in the park.

🔴 ROLLERATOR:  The roller walker that I purchased arrived this morning. Some slight assembly required but no tools were needed. I think the one we got for free is a much better model with more possible adjustments. It will be Ella’s after I replace the wheels because it can be adjusted lower.

🔴 FOOD: 2 each of: tomato sauce, fruit mix, sweet peas, mixed vegetables, sweet corn, diced tomatoes, apple sauce, green beans, dry black beans, spaghetti pasta, 1 lb. packs of ground chicken, and 15 new red potatoes that we received from the food pantry today. We may keep half of it. The rest we will donate to Over The Hill Gang on Thursday.

🔴GAMES: We set up out Fast Track board and began playing. One or two games later Ella went off to the rest room. Joe sat down and I showed him how to play. He and I played a game before Ella returned. We were starting another game when Jill joined us. She had played Wahoo before, which is very similar. We played several games before supper was ready.

🔴 COMMUNITY TABLE: We had could cut sandwiches, beans, potato salad other sides, chips, watermelon, and desserts. I didn’t take any photos or do a head count. I’m guessing there were somewhere around thirty or forty folks there. After supper Burt led us in songs and played the accordion.

🔴 DRIVE:  20 Miles
