2020 August 14 Rerun Sun

Welcome, family and friends, to Our Daily Journal, a remembrance for us, and a point of contact for you. Share it with your friends.

🎶It goes while you’re here
I wanna tell you something
It’s that I love you girl
Yeah, and I wish we could run to the sun
And never come back
Yeah 🎶

First, the weather report

It started out hot. The overnight temperature hovered just below the 80° mark for most of the night. About four in the morning, it “cooled” to 76° before starting back up again.I would gladly take the 89° temps from back in the middle of March. You can see from the HEAT ADVISORY below that its going to be a good day to stay out of the sun.Today, Saturday, and Sunday appear to be reruns of the last couple of days. Yes, folks, it is time for the summer reruns. If it would rerun a couple days fromThis is the book “Making Sense of the Bible” that our Sunday school class (F.R.O.G.) began studying back in March. And then the pandemic overcame us. It forced some changes, no more face-to-face. We meet on Zoom for a while. However, we are in an age group where many were unable or unwilling to use the technology. We tried mask-to-mask meeting with social distancing. That was not well received either. The short version is, we’ve suspended our class, for the foreseeable future.Since we will not be discussing the book (you remember the book thwart started this topic thread) with our class, Ella and I have been reading and discussing a few pages at a time. I’m liking it because we are talking about ideas with each other.UNO is a game that we haven’t played for a long long time. So today we brought out the deck and played. It is another game that is more fun with more people. For instance, skip and reverse amount to the same thing with only two people. But we had fun and it was a changed of pace..Ella needed a refill for one of her medications. That meant climbing into Rudolf the red noise pickup and heading to the pharmacy. The meds cost us $3.79. However, it was a 20 mile round trip. Rudolf averages between 11 to 12 mpg. However, to simplify the math, we’ll say 10 mpg. That would be 2 gallons of gas. Gasoline is currently $1.639 gallon. That equals $3.278, which rounds up to $3.28. Add in the cost of the meds and the REAL cost of her pills is $7.07.It would be s-o-o-o nice if ALL of our medications could be refilled at the same time, with maybe a 3 month supply. True, that would be a shock to the bank account every quarter, but it would really lower the per pill cost.At one time I was on a 3 month cycle with my blood thinners. However, that has gone back to a monthly prescription. All of my meds through the Veterans Association we for a three month supply and all ordered simultaneously.Life cereal with bananas and blueberries was what I had for supper. I think Ella had an apple fritter and called it a meal.See this lovely chocolate drop? It’s as hard as a rock. Actually it is a rock. I thought it was a quarter lying on the ground. Thanks again for stopping by. Share this with your friends. See y’all again tomorrow. Stay safe. Remember, we love you.
