2026 July 25 in Leander

🟢 CHRISTMAS IN JULY: This last Thursday at Cross Tracks Church in the evening we gathered in the old chapel and sand Christmas music. They had asked Ella and I to dress as Santa and Mrs Claus. Afterward we had cookies and chocolate milk. I invited folks to sit on my knee and get a photo. Jennifer was the only one who did.

Notice the song sheets on the table. We sang I Saw the Light, Praise to the Lord the Almighty, Leaning on the Everlasting Arms, How Great Thou Art, and Because He Lives.

🟢WHEELS: I was relieved when the replacement wheels for our rollator walker arrived this afternoon. The old ones had worn out and made it difficult to maneuver the walker properly, which is why someone had thrown it out with the trash. For less than ten dollars I was able to order replacement ones. With the new wheels in hand, I was eager to install them and get the walker usable for Ella. Using the correct size allen wrench, I was able to easily remove the old wheels and install the new ones in just fifteen minutes. It was a simple task, but it made a huge difference in the functionality of her walker. It has already been adjusted for her height both walking and sitting. I am grateful for the timely arrival of the replacement wheels and for how quickly and smoothly the process went. Now, she can continue using the rollator walker with ease and confidence, thanks to the new wheels.

🟢 LOOKING BACK: 3 Three years ago on July 25, I was hooked up to various fluids and monitors, awaiting the installation of a pacemaker. Just two days prior, on the 23rd, I had been rushed to the heart hospital in Round Rock as my heart had flatlined multiple times. After a few days of waiting and uncertainty, on the 26th, the pacemaker was finally implanted. Looking back now, it has been an incredible three years of bonus life. This experience has truly taught me the value of each day and how precious our health is. I am grateful to God and for the medical technology and skilled doctors that have given me this second chance at life. I am also reminded to never take anything for granted and to always appreciate the small moments. Each day is a gift and I am thankful for every single one that I have been able to experience in these three years since my pacemaker was installed. It has been a journey full of ups and downs, but I am grateful for every moment of it and look forward to many more years of this bonus life that I have been blessed with.
