🟡 BREAKFAST: This morning, I decided to make a delicious and hearty breakfast for myself and my bride. I opted for yellow grits, a classic southern dish that is made from ground corn and cooked with milk or water. I opted for just water. I added a touch of butter and salt to enhance the flavor. I prepared mine but Ella chose sugar and milk for her grits. Along with the grits, I made poached eggs which are a personal favorite of mine. I carefully cracked the eggs into poaching cups and let them cook until the whites were set but the yolks were still runny. The combination of creamy grits and perfectly poached eggs was the perfect way to start our day. We enjoyed our breakfast with a hot cup of coffee for Ella and iced tea for me. A splash of color with some fresh strawberries on the side. It was a simple and satisfying meal that left us feeling nourished and ready to take on the day ahead. Overall, it was a successful breakfast.

🟡RANT TIME: Facebook, what seemed to be the ultimate social media platform for connecting with family and friends, has now become a platform filled with repetitive and unoriginal content. It seems like everyone is just linking their Instagram posts to Facebook, making it a one-dimensional space. Gone are the days when people would share meaningful and personal updates about their lives or engage in thought-provoking discussions. It’s saddening to see that the once enjoyable and fun place has turned into a mere tool for self-promotion and validation. The constant algorithm changes and pressure to gain more likes and followers have led to a decline in genuine interactions on the platform. It’s hard to pinpoint exactly what happened, but it’s safe to say that Facebook has lost its charm in the midst of all the superficiality and lack of originality.

🟡 ADAM: My youngest son came for a short visit this afternoon. He couldn’t stay long because he had a new job. He is in management training with QuikTrip and is working nights.
🟡 LAUNDRY: Ella is doing laundry today. That means loading the machine and waiting for it to finish then transferring the load to another machine and waiting. Once both machines have stopped she empties the dryer and reloads both machines. While they are running she folds a load of clothes. She puts hers away and stacks mine on the couch or the bed. This process repeats until all clothes are taken care of.
