Welcome, family and friends to our daily journal. Share it with your friends. It is a way of remembrance for us and a point of connection for you.

  • Today’s sun looks just like yesterday’s.
  • We were back at Cutty’s about 7:30 this morning. I fixed some bacon and eggs. We ate outside at the picnic table. I gathered limbs and twigs from our site and the neighbor’s and burned them in the outdoor fireplace. Just tidying the yard.

Some friends came by this morning to say goodbye.

  • Keith and Joey are now Cutty’s members. Tom and Ella are not.
  • Joey and Keith now own this trailer. Ella and Tom do not.
  • I may also have found someone to continue the Sunday worship services at Cutty’s next season.
  • Kara came out a short time before we left for Audrie’s.
  • Jason and Audrie invited us for grilled Iowa chops, sweetcorn. and baked potatoes.
  • Audrie drove us back to Linnea’s just before our bedtime.
  • God bless and g‘day.

2020 Monday 14

Welcome, family and friends to our daily journal. Share it with your friends. It is a way of remembrance for us and a point of connection for you.

Cloudy, foggy in Carlisle this morning, as we were getting ready to go back to Cutty’s. Up at 6:30 and on the road about 7:15. At cutt Cutty’s before 8.

.

This is this morning’s sunrise over Iowa. It’s hard to tell if the sun is in clouds, fog, smog, or smoke.

  • I can’t tell what it’s happening with these piles. Larger? Smaller? Or combined?
  • Our great nephew Tyler came out to haul away landscaping blocks. I had them around an outdoor fireplace. John took a load of them earlier. I had two styles, John did not want the second style but Tyler did.
  • Keith brought his fiancee, Joey, offer today. The trailer has been signed over to them. They also have an appointment, for tomorrow, with the Cutty’s sales staff. They understand that the seasonal site does NOT go with the trailer. They’ve also been told that storage sites and seasonal sites have a waiting list.
  • Tomorrow we will relinquish our Cutty’s membership.
  • Ella posted: This has been a very busy trip for us. The crew emptied two storage units in a half day before moving on to the trailer and shed.
Everything is packed, except for what we need for the last couple of days.

We’ve gotten rid of our trailer. It will be moving on to other members of our family to enjoy.

We’ve seen 5 nieces, 3 nephews, 3 children, 3 grand kids, 6 great grandkids, 2 sisters, 1 sister in law and her husband. 1 son and daughter in law brought us north and another daughter joined us here, helping us clean out things.
    We visited with some friends.

If you got lost in that list, that’s ok, we have felt a little lost a lot of the time.
Son, John will be carrying more stuff south, Arik and Jenny have already transported some boxes when they went home to Texas.

We’ve been at Cutty’s today visiting friends and finishing up paper work and more.

Everything is packed except what when need to eat tomorrow and Wednesday. We have a pile to give away, a pile to give to family and the pile with the last of our stuff.

    Gee, we’re tired.

I will add an amen to that.

  • We went back to Linnea and Rob’s in Carlisle to spend the night.

The sun in the evening looked a lot like the sun in the morning.

  • God bless and g‘day.

Sunday at Nathan’s

And at Audrie’s

Welcome, family and friends to our daily journal. Share it with your friends. It is a way of remembrance for us and a point of connection for you.

W

e spent the night at Nathan’s. I got to visit with him and the great grandkids — mostly Henry.

  • Shortly after two, Audrie came after Ella and I. We then went to her house until 7:30 when we were shuffled back to Linnea and Rob’s. I’m becoming discombobulated. Everyone is making plans for us. Without transportation of our own, we are be shuttled around.

  • God bless and g‘day.

2020 September 09 Trash Gone

Wednesday

at Cutty’s Des Moines campground

Welcome, family and friends to our daily journal. Share it with your friends. It is a way of remembrance for us and a point of connection for you.

  • Mary and Hazel came to visit this afternoon. They treated Ella and I to lunch at Pizza Ranch home of the Best Chicken in America ® . They also brought a large folder of old family photos.

  • Including this one is Ella and I from many moons ago.
  • Marvin Keith came by this afternoon and hauled away all of the trash. I feel do much better having that burden taken care of.
8:30 p.m.
  • The rain is traveling a diagonal path to the north north east. That means that it has just left our Texas home and is headed toward the Iowa trailer. Thank you God that it didn’t rain while we were clearing out the two rental storage units or when sitting outside sorting through things at the trailer. But it has rained nearly non-stop since then. I still have some OUTSIDE things to do before we leave this gone forever.
  • God bless and g‘day.

2020 September 06 In Iowa

Sunday at Cutty’s Des Moines campground

Welcome, family and friends to our daily journal. Share it with your friends. It is a way of remembrance for us and a point of connection for you.

It has been eleven months and eight days since I slept in our bed in Iowa. It still felt like home. I slept well for a little over six hours and then I was fully awake
It maybe going to be sunny later — but right now at 7 a.m. it it’s completely overcast.

  • Today was also Linnea’s births birthday. John hosted a party at hits place. Lots of family, good food, swimming, water balloons, and just sitting and visiting. A Moore relaxed ending of the day than the beginning.
  • We still have a gigantic amount of stuff that was brought to our trailer for further sorting, donating, and trashing. I’m so glad that the storage units are empty and gone! Instead of spending another $150.00 this month, we will be getting a small refund…
  • I also have a repair job ship that our awning kids properly supported. More on that tomorrow.
  • I’m tired and it is 11 o’clock. Do. I’m going to sleep now.

  • God bless and g‘day.
